Fulufhelo Children Centre

The village of Dopeni is nestled in the beautiful mountainous area of Nzhelele in Venda. Pastor Kenny and Mrs. Susan Ratshimolo have been pastors at the “Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life” Congregation for many years. Sent 2 Serve Ministries got involved in Dopeni and started conducting Youth Development Seminars in 2016, and over the years the relationship between us has grown stronger.

Dopeni village has a high unemployment rate, which ultimately leads to day to day struggles and the neglect of many children. The Fulufhelo Care Centre (which means “Hope”) aims to address this problem in 3 ways –

• Providing a safe haven for the children where they can play and have at least 1 decent meal per day.
• Assisting them with their schoolwork, where they can also discover their own potential, thus empowering them to be the best they can be.
• Social upliftment programs, especially during school holidays, where we can address “life issues” through play, discussions, and training programs.

Apart from the Fulufhelo Care Centre, Sent 2 Serve Ministries also assists vulnerable elderly people and Child-headed families with food parcels and clothing.

Psalm 41: 1-3 Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The LORD rescues them when they are in trouble. 2The LORD protects them and keeps them alive. He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies. 3The LORD nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health.
