A Celebration For The Needy

Every year during the first week of December, there is excitement in the air amongst the needy children in Polokwane.

All children part of our Polokwane Manna Project, under the age of 16, are invited to the annual year-end function. Our bus transport for the children has been sponsored for the past few years by a local bus company in town.

Preparation and Gifts

Every year in August we have to start to contact friends and kind-hearted supporters to consider donating gifts for the needy children. The toddlers receive educational toys and the bigger kids are given practical gifts for the following school year, usually schoolbags, sport bags and stationary.

What would a party be without sweets, chips, ice cream, and cold drinks? We purchase all of this from the donations that we receive from sponsors. At the end of the day, there are a lot of happy little sticky faces and fingers covered in cake icing and sticky lollipop goo.

The children thoroughly enjoy themselves, swimming, playing, and running around. After a short message from the Word of God as to the reason for the season, we hand out the gifts to all the very eager youngsters.

All the hugs and smiles make all the effort, sweating, and running around worthwhile.
