Winter Blanket Drive
Acts 20:35
Paul writes, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” During the months of May and June, the Ministry initiates the “Winter Blanket Drive” for the needy residents of Polokwane.
Businesses, friends, church members, and acquaintances are requested to participate in this initiative to collect blankets for the needy. We collaborate with one of the churches and use their venue for this special day.
A Day Filled With Love And Warmth
The smiling faces of the children always light up with expectation as they see the parcels waiting for them. The children and adults alike enjoy a nutritious cup of soup with a bread roll before we hand out the blankets. The soup is usually donated by kind-hearted ladies who prepare and help us serve.
Sent 2 Serve Ministries always tries to spoil each child with a sweet treat. Helping hands are always available to assist us in packing these into carry bags.
After enjoying their soup, the children usually watch an inspiring Christian movie. Just before leaving for home, the children receive their gift parcels and a warm blanket for the cold winter nights.
Personally, I have done quite a few of these kinds of outreaches, but the feeling never changes. Each and every time that I have this amazing opportunity to do something to better someone else’s life, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude for what I have…
John Bunyan once said, “He who bestows his goods upon the poor, shall have as much again, and ten times more.”
