The Calling

In 2013 I was invited by a friend to host a Youth Seminar in Soweto. I enjoyed it so much and was really touched by the challenges that the youth faced. Driving back to Polokwane I spoke to God and asked Him to create more opportunities for me to minister to the youth.

Guess what….? God not only created the opportunities but laid it upon my heart to start hosting our own Youth Development Seminars. In 2014 we held our first 3 seminars, in 2015, 4 seminars; in 2016 we hosted 6 seminars and in 2017 we have been booked for 13 seminars. Most of these seminars are held in Venda, but we will also minister in Nelspruit, Soweto and Thabazimbi.

About our Youth Development Program

ALL our Youth Seminars are free of charge. On average about 70 children attend per weekend, resulting in 280 plates of food and cups of cold drink being prepared. The food is usually prepared by the mothers of some of these teens and done on open fires. The average cost for a Seminar amounts to about R9000-00, which includes my travelling cost, the manual that each child receives as well as their Certificates of Attendance. On average a cost of R129 per child. We trust God to raise up sponsors who will invest in these life-changing Seminars.

During our Seminars we arrange for a motivational speaker to spend some time with the youth. Motivating them to excel in their studies and live a good moral life.

Currently we have developed 21 relevant topics that we can choose from for our seminars. Some of these are –

• What are my values?
• Relationships
• Bullying
• Bible Study Methods
• Conquering the Goliath’s in my life
• Respect
• Breaking Strongholds in my life
• Forgiveness and
• Never give up – The Story of Joseph

During the Sunday service the teenagers get the opportunity to take part in the service by testifying about the weekend and worship God through song and dance items. After the service they all receive their Certificates of Attendance.

The feedback that we receive from the Pastors and children are all very positive and at the end of each Seminar we are requested to return with more teachings.

Changing the mind-set and actions of the youth today ensure a better tomorrow for all of us. We thank God for all the funds that we receive to make these Seminars possible and for using us in such a way.
